COLD/ERM

IMS provides Computer Output to Laser Disc (COLD) or Electronic Records Management (ERM) service and software. COLD/ERM has become the fastest way to quickly access, view, print, or fax archival print data taken from your computer system. Mainframe and miniframe computers that easily process large volumes of data do not always allow users to easily search through or reproduce current or historical information. As a data storage system becomes full, data must be removed from the system and archived. Processing the data to COLD/ERM overcomes this allowing you quick dynamic access to your reports and their data, all from a Personal Computer.

For customer service applications, you may also want to consider Enterprise Software that will link all of your COLD/EMR documents to other related documents such as electronic images of scanned paper, faxes, e-mail, COLD/ERM, word processor and spreadsheets. Enterprise software, which links these common documents, can improve customer service and enhance productivity. Data Mining software can be integrated with the Enterprise Software. Workgroup Software is also a part of the family of software we offer. It is a robust departmental solution designed to support and run against the Sybase SQL Anywhere Database.

We also offer Workflow Software that works in concert with the Enterprise Software to electronically move tasks and documents through your system.

COLD/ERM data is commonly used by CFOs, CEOs, customer support and accounting departments, or anyone who needs to quickly retrieve current and historical reports and records. These can include Invoices, Statements, Accounts Payable, Tax Reports, G.L. Activities, Payroll and other common accounting and customer service type reports. It is a direct replacement for Computer Output to Microfiche (C.O.M.). COLD/ERM data that is on a live system- that is also saved simultaneously on a read only optical disc- not only provides fast access to the data, but in most cases the disc satisfies permanent records archival requirements.

The COLD/ERM process compresses your data at a rate of up to 9:1 compression. For retrieval, it is indexed using your preselected indexes. The finished data can be stored on the media of your choice. That can range from an archival CD-ROM that has an imbedded viewer with perpetual viewing rights to an on-line storage system using a sequel database with multiple concurrent users.

IMS can either process your data as a service for you, or you may wish to purchase the software to process your data in-house. IMS can also process and host your data for you on a secure server as an Application Service Provider (ASP). Your viewing software would be your Web Browser.
